present for moi?!

Last summer, we broke down and brought home some of Grammy's kittens. A brother and sister combo. They both got soccer themed names, because it was during the world cup when we got them. This is Pele. (pronounced Paylay...after the sweet soccer player)

 And this is Hope Solo...

They have been fun kittens to watch grow up. They are quite playful. Pele is a bit on the dumb side, which is fun and Hope Solo is the typical middle finger raising cat.  She can be sweet and cuddly, when she wants to be.  We originally got them to be outside cats, because squirrels kept attacking my garden. We wanted something to scare those rascally squirrels away.  Pele prefers to be inside, while Hope loves the outdoors.
We were leaving the house a few days ago, and we had a present waiting for us. Actually, Hope was gnawing on the mouse, but was very proud of her prize.

I am so glad that she caught this and was more than happy to get her present on the front stoop.

sweetheart date

The Mia Maids at church hosted a lovely Sweetheart Dinner for a few couples in the ward. Libby invited us. It was fun having Libby as a waitress. The food was very good, the decorations were lovely, and the company was even better!  The girls did a great job putting this thing together! Thank you Libby! xoxo!

Erin and H

On Erin's 16th birthday party weekend, there was a youth temple trip. Our pal, H was able to join us (she is a member of the church). I must say Erin looks beautiful in her 50's inspired dress.

Bowie look-a-like

Clyde is always happy when he gets a new Rolling Stone magazine. He was even happier when he opend it up and David Bowie was wearing the same outfit he was.

dripping

Last week, our children tell us that their shower nozzle is dripping. Really, it won't turn off. Thankfully we know some really good plumbers. My brother, Kellen and his family came for a visit and attempted to fix the problem. Turns out we have a sterling nozzle and those can't be purchased at Lowes or Home Depot. The following day, Kellen was able to get our part and Clyde installed it and it was still leaking.  This week, a hole has to be cut into our drywall to fix the pipe innards.

I took the van in to have it's oil changed. We have had a weird squeak/chirp. Thankfully we bought an extended warranty, as a head gasket needed to be replaced as well as a serpentine belt.  Oddly, the chirp is still there. Then yesterday as Clyde was dropping me off at the shop, radiator fluid was pouring out of the van from the tank and the reservoir.  Back to the shop we go.

I don't like drips!

oral surgeon

We took Libby back to the oral surgeon today. She was beginning to hurt again, which isn't a good sign.  After waiting for an hour past our appointment time, we were seen. This time I did say something to the staff and the doctor.  I can appreciate them wanting to take time with their patients, explaining procedures, but a simple word from the receptionist with the news of him running late, would be appreciated. Turns out, Libby has a dry socket. No fun. The doctor pulled out a piece of tooth that was poking out of her gum that they missed from the surgery. They syringed her mouth (with little to no food in the spaces), more pain meds were prescribed, and her socket was packed. She goes back in a few days to have the socket unpacked.
